Fabrice Marcolini is pleased to announce Manuel Esnoz’s first solo exhibition in Canada. Opening Saturday February 7th from 2 – 4 pm (Artist in Attendance)
Galaxia presents new large scaled oil canvases overlaid with acrylic, collage, and woven paintings by this young Argentinean artist. Due to his technique of a skewing the patterns, Esnoz’s canvases appear as if they were opening three dimensional windows.
Like pieces in a puzzle, Esnoz’s work is made up of several separate particles that come together to create a greater overall pattern. Throughout Galaxia the artist’s fascination with the idea of a skewed patterns is apparent. Esnoz has said he considers himself “inside a board game but defying the rules of perspective.” Galaxia takes the viewer on a sensual journey, weaving through hidden intricate mazes of colour.
“Similar to a network of nerves, each element has an importance, one is not more important than the other. A single pixel is as vital to the picture as a whole” says Esnoz about his work.
Manuel Esnoz was born in 1974 in Argentina. This February he is moving to Bologna, Italy from Buenos Aires where he worked and lived. His paintings are included in the collection of Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes and The Museum of Modern Art in Buenos Aires. His work first appeared at Artcore during the HUGE exhibition of April 2007. He is currently represented in New York, Sao Paolo, Berlin and Buenos Aires.
